The Future of Physical Exams

When you have a conventional physical exam, blood tests can indicate certain problems. But what if you could have an infinitely more comprehensive test? Dr. Oz talks with Dr. George Rodgers, president and chief medical officer of Biophysical Corporation, about what the company's test offers.

While a standard doctor's physical checks for a limited number of conditions, Biophysical250 checks for more than 250 "biomarkers," or proteins in the blood, to find indicators of health conditions or diseases—possibly before any symptoms appear. "The biomarkers we look at will change relative to your health condition or if you have a disease," Dr. Rodgers says. "If you really change what you're doing through therapy or lifestyle, you can improve the registering of those biomarkers—they'll register positive improvement."

The real value of Biophysical250, according to Dr. Rodgers, is the ability to spot problems before they ever develop into something serious. Because of the number of tests, it becomes possible to see patterns developing in the biomarkers. "When you have a number of biomarkers pointing towards a disease or condition, it's really compelling," he says.
