A recent study by Dr. Sarah L. Berga, the chairman of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University School of Medicine, suggests that there may be a link between high stress levels and a woman's ability to conceive, Dr. Robin says. The good news, however, is that women who made small changes to tackle stress were also more likely to overcome infertility.
If you're trying to have a baby, find the perfect job or simply create a peaceful life for yourself, Dr. Robin says you may want to consider whether or not stress is a factor. Then, make the necessary, everyday changes to nurture your mind, body and spirit. "I want you to consider with no judgment of yourself or anyone else whether or not being stressed out might be robbing you of the very thing you're longing for," she says.
