Bob Greene
In February 2007, Bob and six specially selected participants kicked off the Best Life Weight Loss Challenge on The Oprah Winfrey Show . Three months later, the challengers returned to the show to reveal how much weight they've lost so far. Now, Bob talks to Bob, Melissa and Tracy about their journey and the progress they've made.

Melissa admits that getting weighed on national television in front of millions was a nerve-racking experience—but she says it was totally worthwhile. In fact, Melissa says that being on the program has changed her life. "It's just been a huge awakening for me," she says. "I'm a different person, there's a different energy about me, I'm taking more risks. … I feel like I'm getting stronger with every week that goes by."

Tracy also says she's experiencing some big changes in the way she looks and feels, both inside and out. She says seeing images and video of her former, larger self is motivating and rewarding as she moves closer to her goals. "I'm really reveling in the enjoyment of this and really seeing that every pound that comes off I am earning it like you wouldn't believe!" Tracy says.

As part of the program, Bob and the challengers spent four days at the Cal-a-Vie Spa in California for some intense training and soul-searching. Bill says it was there that he had a major revelation about his emotional eating. "I feel like I was in a food coma—I never processed anything. [Emotional eating] was one of the outlets that I had to avoid feeling what I was feeling," he says. Since then, Bill says he has a new approach to food. "Anytime I feel a stress or something that's making me feel uncomfortable, or anytime I have an urge to eat, I stop and I say, 'Why am I doing this?'"
