Gayle is a huge tennis fan, and in 2006, she attended a ceremony which marked a momentous occasion in tennis history—the home of the U.S. Open was renamed the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in honor of sports legend and social activist Billie Jean King. Gayle welcomes Billie Jean to the show to take a look back at her illustrious and groundbreaking career.
Counted among the most decorated champions in tennis history with 39 Grand Slam titles, including 13 U.S. Open titles, Billie Jean brought newfound respect to women's tennis and helped propel the movement for gender equality in sports. She helped break down barriers off the court when she went public with the personal news that she is gay. Gayle talks with Billie Jean about being a role model, her latest eco-friendly sports initiative called GreenSlam, and the legacy she hopes to leave behind as she nears her 64th birthday.
