Telling the Truth

Dr. Robin Smith
Part of being healthy, liberated and free is the ability to simply and profoundly just tell the truth, Dr. Robin says. However, sometimes people are punished for telling the truth. Dr. Robin's friend said he was ostracized because he told the truth about a family member who he found out was harmed, and Dr. Robin's friend hadn't spoken about it for a long time. He felt immoral because someone was harmed in a very serious way, and his silence was acting as if it didn't happen.

Dr. Robin says it's important to create a safe group of people to whom you can tell the truth and to whom you can be open and honest about everything. "You can let them know you, and they will let you know them," Dr. Robin says. "You have got to have a place where you can just tell the truth—tell the truth about yourself."
