![]() Dr. Robin's dog recently made a huge mess in the kitchen by rummaging through the trash while Dr. Robin was busy recording a show. Rather than yell at her dog—who she says was only trying to have a little fun—Dr. Robin rolled up her sleeves, got down on her hands and knees and began scrubbing and washing the floor.
To her surprise, Dr. Robin says her frustration and anger melted away the harder and more vigorously she cleaned. It was at that moment she recalled one of her favorite quotes: "Sometimes sweat is the best form of therapy." Dr. Robin says that for some emotional problems, the best remedy is to physically work it out. Activities like running, gardening or cleaning can all be therapeutic when you're struggling with your emotions and need to work it out. "What is it that you need to work out, to work through, to work your way into so that you can be free of it?" Dr. Robin asks. Figure it out and then consider whether "sweating it out" might be the solution.
