Do you want to get drunk almost every day? Maybe you overspend and constantly buy things you don't need and now you are in debt. If you can't stop yourself from drinking, overspending or other destructive behavior, Dr. Robin says you're likely suffering from an addiction and that it is time to ask for help. "Let someone know that you're in trouble and that you need help and that you are scared," Dr. Robin says.
Letting someone know about your problem is the first step toward getting the help you need. Then, you should seek treatment from a professional, Dr. Robin says. While admitting to your addiction may cause you embarrassment, Dr. Robin says it is a noble thing to do. "Let yourself see, let yourself hear that which that could save your life or the life of someone you love and care about dearly," she says.
