Stop Walking on Eggshells

Dr. Robin Smith
Do you feel like you have to watch every word you say around certain people? Do you want to bring up a subject matter in conversation with someone, but don't, because the eggshells you are walking on would crumble? Dr. Robin says it is time to stop walking on eggshells and to start saying what you feel. "Being able to speak that which is true, from your heart, with integrity, with authenticity, with respect for yourself and the other, it is your birthright," Dr. Robin says.

Dr. Robin says sharing your feelings and expressing yourself can be done in a mature and respectful way. "I think we should be mindful of using our words wisely and being smart about what we say and how we say it and what tone it comes out in," Dr. Robin says.

While you may be nervous to stop walking on eggshells, Dr. Robin says you need to remember that watching every word you say is no way to live your life. "You can't really live your life walking in fear," Dr. Robin says. "Fear drains you of your power, it drains you of your joy, and it drains you of your ability to think clearly."
