Are you single and loving life or down in the dumps about it? Singles lifestyle expert Sherri Langburt says there are two types of singles: those who are independent and love being single, and those who want to be married and are unhappy with the single life. Enter SingleEdition.com*, a website Sherri founded for single people who need to learn to enjoy their independence. Gayle talks with Sherri about the website, the single mind-set and her personal experiences with dating.
Sherri launched the website in late 2007 because she felt there really was a need for it. "I had been single and in technology for many years, and I saw that there were [Web] portals for just about every demographic, but only dating sites for singles," she says. "And although finding love is important, you must love yourself first."
Now married, Sherri says her perspective has changed in a positive way. "I used to beat myself up," she says. "A relationship should complete you, not deplete you. When the right person comes along, there isn't any more 'not perfect enough.'"
Sherri's message to singles is to not play the waiting game, but to live in the moment. "Don't wait for the perfect person to travel [with], to buy a home, to learn or meet new people," she says. "It's now."
