![]() When Dr. Robin's computer recently crashed, she knew she ran the risk of losing all her important data. Luckily, she had backed up almost all her work a few days earlier. Still, the incident made her pause and wonder: How well do we protect the things that matter most in our lives? Not just computer data, but all the things in your life that you consider to be valuable and meaningful?
Just as it's critical to routinely back up your computer, Dr. Robin says it's important to take stock of the people, places and things we treasure in our lives and make sure we're protecting them, too. Be mindful of your words, actions and choices, she says, and really show you care about the things you say you do. If you don't "back up your life," Dr. Robin says you could lose it all. "I don't want your life to crash the way my computer did," she says. Published on June 20, 2007
