Pornography Addiction
![]() There are millions of pornography websites on the Internet, and even more people who view it. The numbers are shocking and Dr. Robin says pornography addiction is a problem that needs to be addressed. "Something is seriously wrong if there are [thousands of] people per second accessing the Internet or their phones trying to get a fix," Dr. Robin says.
Becoming addicted to Internet pornography is just a symptom of something that Dr. Robin says is much deeper. "It's a drug, it's a way that people are trying to hide from their pain, from their feelings of not being good enough," Dr. Robin says. "What makes it even more dangerous is it is so easy to access." Internet pornography is not just something that adults view. Dr. Robin says teenagers and even younger children have access to porn websites, and the addiction is tearing families apart. "You don't want your family damned, you don't want your family eaten alive by pornography, by the addiction, by that savage beast," she says. Dr. Robin says being addicted to Internet pornography is more than a psychological issue. "You have got to get to the root of this issue and the root of the cancer so it doesn't eat your family alive." You can help someone who is addicted start the healing process by talking about the problem with them and encouraging them to seek help. "Own the truth, face your own flame and turn toward the light so you can set yourself free and those you love," she says.
