When a politician gets busted in an alleged sex scandal, it's not uncommon for that person's spouse to stand by their side, despite public humiliation, Gayle says. As news breaks about New York Governor Eliot Spitzer allegedly using a high-class prostitution service, Gayle says her attention turns to Eliot's wife, Silda. Silda stood by her husband at a press conference where he apologized to his family and the public.
To get more insight on what Silda may be going though, Gayle talks with Dina Matos McGreevey, who at the time stood alongside her then-husband, former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey, when he announced in 2004 he was a "gay American." Dina shares with Gayle her thoughts, feelings and actions after she learned of her husband's affair and talks about her decision to put on a brave face in front of the nation as her husband announced he was gay.
