Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

The lines are open and Rabbi Shmuley takes calls from parents with questions about raising their children. From parents who worry about favoring one child over another to a mother who can't get her young son to stop complaining, Rabbi Shmuley offers advice and tips.

The one thing parents can do to overcome many of the problems they're having with their children is to simply spend time with them and not let them overrun their rules, Rabbi Shumley says. "You want to be a great parent? You want to raise great kids? Give them the gift of yourself. Cut out the things. Don't feel bad—they don't need things. They are not going to remember them—they will remember moments," he says.

Today's Shmuleyism
"Children will always try to make you feel guilty and find the chinks in your armor—but don't let them do it. Parent out of strength rather than weakness and out of love rather than fear. Never be afraid that your kids aren't going to love you."
