Peter Walsh

If you're interested in becoming famous in the entertainment industry, Peter says organizing your talents will help you show people how smart, skilled and gifted you are. Peter talks with impressionist and comedian Reggie Reg about steps to becoming a star. Plus, Peter, Reggie and comedian Judy Tenuta take calls from listeners who showcase their singing, rapping and poetic talents.

If you're starting out your entertainment career, Reggie offers this advice on how to organize and showcase your talent.
  • Focus on a talent. "The first thing is that I had to really focus on what I wanted to do," Reggie says. "Once you've made up your mind as to what direction you want to go in, you can move forward."
  • Find a mentor to help you grow. It's important to have someone in the business that sees you have some potential, Reggie says. "Someone that understands what your journey is, comes aboard and helps you to stay focused," he says.
  • Surround yourself with positive people. "Stay true to what you're trying to accomplish, whether it's comedy, singing, dancing," Reggie says. "It's a hard road to success. Surround yourself with people that have your interest at heart."
  • Organize yourself. Find out where agencies are located and get the tools you need, like headshots, Reggie says.
