For the past 25 years, Leonard Maltin has reviewed hundreds of films as the movie critic for Entertainment Tonight. Gayle talks with Leonard about his successful career and his love of going to the movies.

Every time he steps foot in a theater, Leonard says he feels the same way—hopeful. "We are eternally hopeful that we are going to see a good one, you just never know," he says. Over the past 25 years, Leonard says he has seen the best and the worst of movies, but he says he has never tired of his job. "Movies really are the ultimate democratic art form, because the president of the United States watches movies, the guy who picks up your garbage watches movies and everybody in between," he says.

Leonard says the best thing about movies is the effect they have on people. "There are movies that have influenced young people in a way that has caused them to make a career choice or a change in their life or made them want to travel somewhere," Leonard says. "Movies can do all of that."

Leonard says most people think it's a perk of the job to be able to meet the big names in Hollywood, but he says he doesn't pursue friendships with people in the movie business. "I really don't like to buddy up with people I am going to have to criticize—it is not a comfortable situation," he says
