Once bankrupt with low self-esteem, Gail Kasper has changed her life around to become a renowned professional speaker and life coach. Gail talks with Jean about how she got out of debt and became successful, how she's helping others get their lives on track and her book Mission Possible!

Gail says she lacked self-confidence growing up and therefore never truly experienced the world around her. She decided to go to seminars and motivational talks and expand her world, whether she liked it or not. "Everything that you do in life that is different from what you're doing now puts you on a pathway to success because you're taking risks and expanding your environment," Gail says.

To get out of bankruptcy, Gail says she first had to be honest with where she was. She got rid of her existing credit cards, got a secured credit card with her bank and started to redevelop her credit from there. Gail says some people don't feel worthy of having money in the bank, but the reality is that you're going to feel best when you have it. "You don't have to spend every penny, she says." You have to say to yourself, 'I do deserve this money.' Your life doesn't have to be in drama. You can be in peace."

She stresses the importance of taking a look at your life and asking yourself, "Are you truly happy with yourself? Are you happy in your career? Are you happy on a personal level?" Be sure to focus on the good points of who you are and believe in yourself, she says.

When it comes to your career, don't find yourself stuck in a low-paying job. Take a class that's going to make you more marketable, she says. Also, start researching for other job opportunities while at your current job so you can still make money. "The job process isn't an overnight change, but start to put feelers out and see what's out there for you," she says. "Every step you take builds on who you are."
