If you're waiting for a sign from heaven, some special person, a job or a piece of wisdom to give your life meaning and purpose, Dr. Robin says there's a famous quote that may help give you some perspective: "At the moment of commitment, the universe will conspire to assist you."

In other words, Dr. Robin says that the universe is actually waiting for you to show up, give it your all and make your own life happen. "You want the planets to be in favor of you, you want that bright star at night to somehow shine right onto your life and into your situation—but the thing that's been missing is you," she says.

Dr. Robin says that when you fully commit to helping yourself—whether it's pursuing a more exciting career, mending your broken heart or creating a more loving marriage—the world around you will work together to assist you. "The universe is waiting for you to show up as a grown up so that you can do whatever is required to create and carve out the life, the marriage, the destiny that is not only in your dreams, but that you actually fulfill," she says.
