Dr. Robin says if something in your life changes, whether it is a small change or a big one, take a deep breath, feel the space and see what happens. She says you need to learn how to navigate your new terrain by accepting your loss and accepting that things will be a little different from now on.
If your loss is traumatic, don't run from that loss, she says. "Instead of running from that moment, hiding from that moment, let yourself learn the lesson of that moment and hear what it has for you so that the feeling of being lost actually allows you to find a new definition of who and what you are."
