Lisa Kogan Has No Time!

Gayle King
If you are a regular reader of O, The Oprah Magazine , then you're probably well-acquainted with columnist Lisa Kogan, a writer-at-large and regular contributor to the magazine.

Gayle says Lisa's popular column, Lisa Tells All, generates a huge response from readers each month, and her article in the April 2007 issue was no exception. In "Lisa Kogan Doesn't Have the Time," Lisa reflects on her own fast-paced, overscheduled and busy life, and asks: Is it possible for any of us to stop and smell the daffodils?

Gayle says the column really struck a chord with a lot of people because it's so relatable and reflects Lisa's great sense of humor, too. After all, what parent can't relate to stepping on a kid's toy while going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, or struggling to work out and eat right while juggling a full-time job and household responsibilities?

Lisa says she hopes her writing will resonate with readers, whether they are working moms or stay-at-home mothers. "We love our damndest, we try our hardest, we all want the best for our kids, but in the end, we force them to wear a coat over their Halloween costume and all hell breaks lose," Lisa says. "So either you screw up your kids because you stay at home with them or you screw up your kids because you've gone to work. And life goes on, and you hope that they earn enough of a living that they can afford a shrink some day!"
