![]() He's a five-time Grammy winner and has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide! Gayle talks to Lionel Richie about his music career and his new CD, Coming Home.
More than 30 years after his first album with the Motown group The Commodores, Lionel tells Gayle his new CD showcases a brand new side of him. "It goes one of two ways," Lionel says. "You either sound worse as you get older or something happens and you kind of settle into a voice that's really comfortable. I must tell you genetically I don't know what happened—it's better now for me. The highs are higher, the lows are solid, and more importantly, I'm having a lot of fun doing it." Lionel also talks about his past marriages and his three children, including his daughter Nicole, who has most recently been in the spotlight for her inability to gain weight. Lionel says his children are the most important people in his life. "I don't care how much money you have," he says. "I don't care who you are. … You can have all the accomplishments, all the accolades, but if you have one child who is sad, you can only be that happy."
