Do you look down on smokers? Do you frown on their "bad habit" and judge them for not having the willpower or the desire to quit? While smoking may be an unhealthy habit and a very difficult addiction to overcome, Dr. Robin cautions us against passing judgment on those who smoke. In fact, she says criticizing and judging others can be a worse offense than smoking.
Instead of condemning others for their bad habits, Dr. Robin recommends taking a closer look at your own behavior. Consider what might be possible if you trade your negative thoughts and remarks for something more positive and encouraging. "If you want to speak life and hope into yourself and into the people in your community, the best way to do it is to kick the habit of being critical and being judgmental," she says.
