What is the soul? Want to know yours? Oprah does some soul-searching as she launches an exclusive new series. In this first show, she hears a riveting account of survival and mystery auras from John, who survived a fiery plane crash. Then Oprah's joined by Gary Zukav, author of Seat of the Soul and Soul Stories, for his perspective on what may have happened and the implications it has for all of us.
John, a survivor of the Singapore Airlines Flight 006 crash in October 2000, describes the chaos and the horror of the crash, but also shares a story of amazement and wonder—details of a strange white light or aura coming from some of the passengers as they were dying. Oprah calls this a "miracle story" and turns to spiritualist Gary Zukav, author of Seat of the Soul, to answer questions about life and death. John struggles with why he survived the crash and 83 others did not. Was it divine intervention?
Gary says what John saw was real, and counsels that it wasn't his day to die. "When the soul decides to return home, it will," Gary says. Does the brightness of the aura reflect how we have lived our lives? What can you do to nurture your soul and be that bright light?
