Gayle and Daryn Kagan
Do you think that there isn't enough good, positive or inspirational news on TV? Former CNN news anchor Daryn Kagan agrees and started a website to showcase the kinds of stories that make people feel good. Gayle talks with Daryn about her career as a newswoman and the future of her website.

After 12 years at CNN, Daryn says her contract was not renewed and she found herself looking outside the news business for a second career. She says she had been reading many inspirational books and decided that she wanted to expose others to inspirational stories that the mainstream media often overlooks. Daryn created Darynkagan.com, a website that offers daily webcasts hosted by Daryn, as well as positive stories from television journalists and everyday people.

"I wanted to create a space for these stories to exist so that people could access them and have them 24/7," she says. "I think news is really important—I am still a news junkie, I am online all day and it is so important to be informed—but I also believe that it is important to be inspired as well."

Daryn says that all the stories on her website fit the theme "show the world what's possible." With stories about love, motherhood, kids, animals, sports and more, Daryn says there is something new and inspiring to see every day. "You might see a story like this at the end of the news, but if there is breaking news or something else comes up—boom! That story gets dropped," she says. "People should be able to have this kind of story and this kind of experience on demand when they want it."
