In a world that is fast becoming harsh and judgmental, Rabbi Shmuley says it's important to raise our children to be kinder, gentler people. He discusses the importance of "honoring the feminine side" in Chapter 5 of his book 10 Conversations You Need to Have with Your Children.

Rabbi Shmuley says we are raising a generation of boys and girls who don't know how to relate to each other and don't know how to be peaceful and loving. "We are not raising our kids to be nurturers," he says. "No one is really developing and cultivating a more feminine side."

It's important to to speak to children at the earliest age about becoming gentler and kinder people. The best way for this to happen is to encourage children to "honor the feminine side."

"Don't be afraid to show your emotions and your soft side," he says. "The world is not going to be inherited by the strong; it will be inherited by the weak because it is those who can connect emotionally who really end up triumphing."
