In honor of Independence Day, Jean talks about America's rich historical legacy with Patricia O'Toole, an American historian and biographer. Patricia, who says her favorite period in American history stretches from about 1880 to the end of World War I, talks about what past presidents can teach us about our nation's future and about the importance of teaching history to young students. She also talks about her latest book, When Trumpets Call: Theodore Roosevelt After the White House, which chronicles the 26th president's years after leaving office.
