Do you know someone who is hiding from his or her pain? In light of the shooting at a Nebraska shopping mall, where a teen gunman shot and killed eight people, Dr. Robin says we need to start to paying attention to those going through a rough time.
Dr. Robin says if you know someone who is struggling with pain, talk to them and get them help. "It's usually someone who is in so much pain and distress and torment that they don't know what to do," she says. "Think about if you know someone who is in a lot of pain—or maybe it's you, and you've minimized it." Whether it's you or someone else who's hiding from pain, Dr. Robin says it's important to take action now and address it. "What will it take for you and for me to face those things that scare us?"
