Dr. Robin Smith

During her devotional time, Dr. Robin read the phrase, "Let down your wings." The saying is in reference to the moment when flying birds reach a certain height at which they can coast. Although we don't have literal wings, Dr. Robin says it's important to similarly relax so that we can concentrate on the direction in which we need to be headed.

If you are flapping your wings in fear, trying to look like you're busy and productive, Dr. Robin says to let your wings down gracefully, gently and with compassion and grace. "Your pain is in your life to teach you what direction to go in," she says. "But if you're making too much noise being what you're not, you can't hear."

Slow the process down so you'll be able to hear exactly what direction you need to move in, Dr. Robin says. "Quiet your outer world so that your inner world can bring you insight; so you can hear the truth, know the truth and live the truth."
