Gayle King
His all-American style has made Tommy Hilfiger an icon in the fashion world. Gayle talks with Tommy about his book, Iconic America: A Roller-Coaster Ride through the Eye-Popping Panorama of American Pop Culture, and about his career.

After conquering the fashion industry with his line of denim, then further expanding his empire, Tommy has created a coffee table book packed with more than 400 photos of iconic American images. Everything from the Barbie Doll and Coca-Cola to a picture of Mick Jagger's lips can be found within its pages.

The book includes a preface about Tommy's take on the anti-American movement, as well as a bookmark with a picture of Uncle Sam. Tommy says he was inspired to write the book by his passion for America. "I am really addicted to pop culture in so many ways," he says. "Everything from art and music to entertainment and Hollywood…Andy Warhol, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis."
