Peter brings listeners the second part of his special program on the people, places and culture of his hometown, Melbourne, Australia. First, Peter takes a tour with his mother and one of his sisters of the Queen Victoria Market, one of the largest and oldest outdoor shopping markets in town. Next, to get an in-depth look at Melbourne's hot music scene, Peter talks with the lead singer of a local jazz-ska-rock-funk fusion band. Then, to showcase the city's vibrant arts and cultural offerings, Peter talks with the associate director of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the director of the Melbourne Writers Festival. "It is a city that is bustling and huge and exciting and a metropolis," Peter says. "And yet there is a closeness and an intimacy about this place that really helps those who live here to live their best life."
