Most people would agree that bigotry, sexism and racism haven't completely disappeared from America. "In order to deal with bigotry, we have to admit that bigotry is still a problem in America, and we have to educate our kids that it's not okay to play a part in it," Rabbi Shmuley says. He talks about teaching your children that prejudice isn't the answer and about the importance of being open-minded to other people's differences.

"Prejudice has been a great stain on American society for a long time. It's time we got rid of those prejudices. If a friend or relative expresses bigotry or prejudice, politely express to them that the comment isn't appropriate. Make sure your kids know that intolerant remarks about others because of race, gender or sexual orientation is not part of being a good person."
