Coping with Job LossNetworkNetworking is not only critically important professionally but personally as well. The thing I noticed that was most difficult for me after losing my job was the fact that my social circle disappeared! Though you may not like everyone you work with, you are at least surrounded by people. When you lose a job, you not only lose income, but human interaction as well, and that is a very lonely experience. So start working that Rolodex! Call friends, friends of friends, former co-workers—even acquaintances—and let everyone know what you are looking for. You never know where you might come across that next opportunity. © 2009 Jupiterimages Corporation
