Have you ever felt powerless over your thoughts? Maybe you've had negative thoughts about your weight or your ability to succeed that you simply can't shake. Dr. Robin says that if you are feeling haunted by negative thoughts, know that they're only thoughts—and thoughts can be changed.
In order to shift your way of thinking, Dr. Robin suggests identifying the thoughts that are limiting you and then writing them down. Then, think about what the opposite of that negative thought would be, and write that down. Finally, list one or two actions you can take that will lead you in the direction of that new, positive belief.
Dr. Robin says that whatever thoughts you focus on are the thoughts that will grow and come to manifest themselves in your life. Take charge of your thoughts and you can thrive, she says. "Whatever you want to see happen, wherever you want to end up, you've got to do the work of changing where you're thinking and how you're thinking," she says. "In doing so, you will change and transform your life."
