Celebrating Esquire's 75th Anniversary

Oprah.com   |   August 05, 2008
Gayle King
Founded in 1933, Esquire magazine is celebrating its 75th anniversary by focusing on the future. Gayle talks with editor-in-chief David Granger about the October 2008 issue's theme, "The 21st Century Begins Now," and its innovative electronic paper cover. "Instead of doing what magazines normally do with anniversary issues, we decided that we weren't going to fixate on our past or fixate on our culture's past; we're going to take a look at what comes next," David says.

Gayle and David talk about the anniversary issue, which "is going to be about the people, the issues and the ideas that are foundational to the new century."
