Holly and Rodney are checking their voice mail and responding to questions and comments from listeners. One caller commiserates with the Peetes over driving an SUV. Despite her concerns about the environment and the price of gas, she says her SUV is the only vehicle she's ever owned that can carry everyone in the family—children, pets, parents and grandparents.
Another listener calls in to offer the Peetes advice for planning their summer vacation. She says summer camps are great, but tries to persuade Holly and Rodney to take an RV trip too, which she says are better for creating family memories.
Finally, the Peetes hear from a caller who says she's concerned that many Americans feel powerless to effect change in government when, in fact, they should feel empowered as citizens. "We're all fighting for the same things, and once people realize that and that they're not alone in this big old world, then we can start to see a change," the caller says.
