How can couples meet half way in the effort to create a comfortable space for both sexes? Nate talks with couples about their decorating dilemmas and how they can integrate different styles and tastes into one living space.
Nate is joined by special guest and fellow Oprah Radio host Dr. Mehmet Oz, along with his wife, Lisa Oz, who says her husband's home office is a decorating disaster. Dr. Oz's home office is filled with diplomas, family photos and wood paneling, with a great view of the Hudson River. Although functional, Lisa and Nate agree that it could still be much more aesthetically pleasing. It's a work in progress!
Then, Carter Oosterhouse from Trading Spaces joins Nate from his late 1800s Victorian style farmhouse in Traverse City, Michigan. Carter says he's currently in the process of renovating the home, which sits on 13 acres of land. For Carter, tearing down walls is more relaxing than yoga. Television's sexiest carpenter also reveals he's got a girlfriend, and shares this decorating advice for couples: Take it slow and listen to the ladies!
Plus, Nate answers your questions! What's his advice for callers with too much stuff and too little space? Take into account what you're doing in the space, Nate says, and figure out your storage requirements. Then, find furniture that does double duty, go wireless with electronics to reduce clutter and capitalize on the wall space.
