She's a talented actress, comedienne and author…and she has an unparalleled wit! Amy Sedaris joins Gayle to talk about her new book on entertaining, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence.
In her book, Amy shares her best and funniest entertaining tips on everything from recipes to décor to etiquette. "I think the trick is to be prepared and to do as much preplanning as possible," Amy says about entertaining. "And also the book is more for people who, if you don't entertain, it'll help you be a good guest. I think guests are what really make your party."
Amy also talks to Gayle about her family, including her brother, humor essayist David Sedaris and author of Me Talk Pretty One Day. The collection includes essays about the six Sedaris children and their upbringing in Raleigh, North Carolina. "We're very supportive of each other and we all get along, and I think that's really nice," Amy says. "Because of David's books, people will assume we're a dysfunctional family and we're really not! … It's really out of love that he writes these stories."
