What do melting ice caps and miscounted votes have in common? According to Marianne, issues such as global warming and the state of American democracy are both urgent crises that can only be solved by the active participation of each and every citizen.
Marianne talks to former Vice President Al Gore about restoring the integrity of the democratic process, the urgency of global warming, and more importantly, why we as individuals need to care about both. Instead of pointing fingers, Al poses the question, "How have we as a nation become so vulnerable to the kinds of mistakes that would have been caught and corrected in the past?"
