It's almost been one year since Bob launched the Best Life Weight Loss Challenge , and now that the team of six held its last weigh-in on The Oprah Winfrey Show , Bob is checking in with two of the challengers, Barbara and Melissa, to reflect on the past year.
When Barbara signed up for the challenge, she faced many obstacles. She was a longtime smoker who quit "cold turkey" the first day of the challenge, was a compulsive eater and was over the age of 50—all factors that made weight loss difficult. With the help of Bob and his Best Life Diet, Barbara says she was able to kick the smoking habit and not only shed 20 pounds, but gain a new perspective on life. "I found out that happiness is an inside job, and if you care about yourself, you take better care of yourself," she says.
Melissa also found happiness and weight loss while taking part in the challenge. As a stay-at-home mom who found her herself sinking into depression, Melissa says the Best Life Diet changed every aspect of her life. "The difference in how I treat myself today versus two weeks before I was introduced to the Best Life Diet is huge," she says. "The way I embark on every day, the choices I make as far as what I eat and what I don't eat, the activities I do—it's huge." With a weight loss of more than 25 pounds and a newfound vitality for life, Melissa says she is living every day to the fullest. "I don't see myself ever sliding back even close to the point that I was at a year ago—and where I was for many, many years. I just know better now. Knowledge is power."
