Actress Diane Keaton
She's starred in dozens of movies since the early 1970s, and today Diane Keaton continues to make box-office hits. Gayle talks with Diane about her career, personal life and latest movie, Mad Money.
A comedy, Mad Money is about three women who work at the Federal Reserve Bank and design a plan to steal soon-to-be-destroyed money. Diane co-stars with Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes, actresses Diane says she loved working with. "They are two women I would never know," she says. "I would know them like everyone else does—by seeing them and who they represent and what they are seeming to be—but to actually know them…that is a treat," she says. When she isn't on movie sets, Diane is a single mom taking care of her two children, Dexter and Duke. Diane adopted her children later in life because she says as a young woman, she didn't feel like she had to have children. Diane says her mother encouraged her to pursue her acting career and never pressured her to marry or have children. "My mother was really my partner in every project that I had," she says. "She was just the great enabler of my dreams." While she isn't sure if she is completely happy with life, Diane says she intends to continue doing all of the things she loves for as long as possible. "I am absolutely intrigued by life, and I really want to hold onto it," she says. "I'm not looking to go, and I am looking to do as much and have as an exciting and full and rich of a life [as possible]."
