He's an Emmy Award®-winning actor, best known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti on HBO's The Sopranos. Now, Michael Imperioli is starring in the Harpo Films production Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's For One More Day. Gayle talks with Michael about his role in the movie and what it taught him.

In Mitch Albom's For One More Day, Michael plays the role of Chick Benetto, a former baseball player who has collapsed into alcoholism and despair and plans to commit suicide. At the final moment, he gets the opportunity to spend one last day with his departed mother, resolving all the things he didn't say to her when she was alive and finding his way to redemption.

Michael says he was inspired by the film's message. "I think what the movie is trying to say is that you have to stop and appreciate what you have today," Michael says. "Look at what you have with wider eyes, maybe with more compassion and more gratitude for the things that you do have and not the things you don't have."

In a world of uncertainty, Michael says it's important to stay grounded about what is most important in your life and that there is no better time to appreciate life than the present. "The past is gone and the future hasn't happened, so all we have is to stop and appreciate what we have today," he says.
