A devout Christian, Mary Lou Wallner was devastated when her lesbian daughter committed suicide in 1997—a daughter whom she says she had rejected, believing homosexuality was a sin. Now, as head of TEACH Ministries, which she founded in 2001, Mary Lou and her husband, Bob, speak to Christian groups around the country, urging parents to embrace their gay children.
