Do you really know the people in your life, or do you just assume they feel one way or another about certain topics because they are your friends? Dr. Robin urges us to become more inquisitive about the people we think we know.
Just because you are married to someone or are good friends with someone does not necessarily mean you know everything about them. Stop assuming you really know how they feel about something, and instead create a foundation to get to know who they really are, she says.
Dr. Robin says it's important to be open and secure enough to accept that some people in your life may see the world differently than you do. "We get really stirred up when we realize that someone is different," Dr. Robin says. Instead of running from differences, allow them to enrich your relationships, she says.
