Glancing through my high school yearbook recently (an activity I recommend to no one), it occurred to me that people look better when they've figured out who they are and are comfortable with themselves. Do you think that, in some fundamental way, you look better as you get older?
The Proof Is in the Passport
While going through my personal papers, I discovered that it was time to renew my passport. After I had my picture taken at the post office, I compared it to my photo from 10 years ago. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I think I look better than I did 10 years ago! I look more relaxed and confident. My children are grown, I recently retired and, best of all, I got remarried about four years ago—all of these factors make me a self-confident, self-assured woman, and now I know that's reflected in my appearance.
Inside Out Radiance
Oh, yes! As I get older, I'm more comfortable with myself. Six months ago, I had the strength to start the business of my dreams, and now there is a wellspring of joy making its way to the surface of my being. Just last week I had the delightful experience of a handsome stranger walking up to me while I was shopping and saying, "I don't want you to think I'm crazy, but you're really gorgeous." He was gone before I could even say thank you! I know my beauty comes from deep within now.

Younger Every Year
I'm a 47-year-old homemaker and mother of five children, but people often think that I'm in my early 30s. I think I look younger than my age because of my active lifestyle. When I'm asked how I keep my arms so toned, I tell the truth: My family and I live on a 10-acre horse farm, and it's from shoveling loads of horse manure! Plus, I have a young spirit—I ride four-wheelers, boat, snow and water ski. Basically, whatever my kids like to do, I enjoy right alongside them. It doesn't hurt to follow a simple and natural beauty regimen, too. I never tan my face and have always worn sunscreen. I have never felt more comfortable in my skin than right now!
