Donna Brazile is a veteran political strategist, university professor, author, columnist, and the Democratic National Committee's Vice Chair of Voter Registration and Participation.
A native of New Orleans, Brazile entered politics to support the campaign of a City Council candidate who had promised to build a playground in her neighborhood; she was nine years old. She has worked on every presidential campaign from 1976 through 2000, when she served as campaign manager for former Vice President Al Gore.
Author of the best-selling Cooking with Grease: Stirring the Pots in American Politics, Brazile is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, a political contributor on CNN, a consultant to ABC News, a commentator on ABC's "This Week," a contributor to NPR and a syndicated newspaper columnist for United Media.
Ms. Brazile is Managing Director of Brazile & Associates LLC, a general consulting, grassroots advocacy, and training firm in Washington, DC.
