 Writers on Writing: The Ending "Sometimes when I'm absorbed in a great book, I slow down because I don't want the book to end," says Oprah. That feeling is almost always compounded when you're the author. Here, some writers tell us how they feel about coming to the end of their own books. 
"I wept buckets when I finished the Rapture of Canaan because I had given myself completely and I
was in all those characters and then to finish it's really kind of lonely."
