Going green doesn't have to mean making major sacrifices. In fact, David says there are some environmentally friendly things you can do, starting today, to make a positive impact on the Earth and your pocketbook.

• David says you will not only save $50 per year on your energy bill by buying an EPA "Energy Star"-rated washing machine—you'll also cut your water use by 7,000 gallons a year.
• Turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth, installing low-flow showerheads and buying a dual-flush toilet will not only conserve water, David says it'll also save you $72 a year on your water bill.
• By switching to recycled toilet paper, you can save $40a year, and by switching to compact fluorescent bulbs, David says you'll save $45 over the lifetime of a lightbulb.
• If you use public transportation instead of a car for just one errand a week, David says you would save $215 a year.
