Cell Phone Driver Safety

Cell phone manufacturers recommend that you don't use your cell phone while driving. If you have to, here are safety guidelines from the Celluar Telecommunications Industry Association:

	Keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
	Keep your phone within easy reach.
	Know the buttons on your phone so that you're comfortable using it while driving.
	Use the speed-dialing feature so you can make a call by touching only one or two buttons.
	Avoid dialing a number manually while your car is moving. Try to pull over or have a passenger dial for you.
	Never take notes while driving.
	Let voice mail pick up—you can always check your messages later.
	Be a wireless Samaritan. Dial 9-1-1 to report crimes in progress or other potentially life-threatening emergencies, accidents, or drunk driving.
