How ironic that I ran into Jake Gyllenhaal, the star of Southpaw, and Antoine Fuqua, the movie's director, at the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. I loved their film, about a boxer who spirals out of control. It's never too early for Oscar buzz, especially when you see Gyllenhaal's vulnerable and tough performance. Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent are also brilliant—but it's Oona Laurence, as the boxer's daughter, who breaks your heart. Warning: I had to watch the graphic fight scenes with my eyes closed.
