![]() Almost all 20 of the young women who live at St. Helena's Residence, a foster-care home for girls ages 12 to 21, come from neighborhoods saturated with substance abuse, crime and/or poverty. More than 50 percent have endured physical, emotional or sexual abuse. Some suffer from depression, some from more devastating mental illnesses. And some come to St. Helena's simply because their parents died and no one is left to take them in. But here's the thing: The place swarms with good vibes. Elaine Griffin, O at Home 's Good Works Makeover guru, felt it from the start. Plus, Oprah stops by!

Tell Us About Your Good Works O at Home would like to salute the men and women across America who volunteer their time to refurbish, renovate and redecorate offices, conference rooms, play areas and charitable organizations that could not afford to upgrade facilities on their own.
