1. Get a coffee table you won't worry about damaging.
And make sure it's big enough for both of you to put your feet up on at once—there's no domestic harmony when you're fighting for foot space.

2. You need more lighting than you think:
Overhead and wall lighting, floor and table lamps. And dimmers! They let you create a warm glow that will make you so much more attractive to each other.

3. If you have a living room, live in it!
We put a ping-pong table in ours, and now we're in there constantly, whacking the ball at each other. It's a great stress reliever— every couple needs one!
